Radio Responds To Southern California Wildfires

Southern California Wildfires: Fierce winds over the past day have fanned the flames of what have been called some of the most destructive wildfires in California's history. Some 400,000 residents remain without power, more than 1,000 structures have been destroyed and at least two lives have been lost.

Mt. Wilson KKGO/Los Angeles founder/owner/GM Saul Levine tells Country Aircheck, "The fire has hit all of us very hard. The staff has worked very hard to keep operations normal, with special kudos to our engineers keeping our three transmitter sites operational during the fire outages."

"The winds have been horrible out here, so I cannot imagine what they are going thru in L.A.," says Audacy KFRG/Riverside PD Heather Froglear, who is located 50 miles inland and east of most of the major fires. "We are updating folks on-air as needed, or if anything develops, including traffic issues, school closures, etc."
