Bits & Pieces: Dustin Lynch, KIZN
Bits & Pieces: The ninth annual Dustin Lynch and Friends Benefit Concert at the singer's former high school in Tullahoma, TN raised more than $32,000 Dec. 17 for Imagination Library of Coffee County and the Tullahoma Education Foundation for Excellence. A collection was also undertaken for Toys for Tots. Lynch's guests included Madeline Merlo and songwriters Andy Albert, Blake Pendergrass and Jameson Rodgers.
Cumulus' Boise cluster, including KIZN, teamed with Toys For Tots for what it termed "Idaho’s Largest Toy Drive." Station staffers spent 10 days in a parking lot collecting toys, ultimately gathering more than 80,000 toys, over 300 bikes and raising more than $50,000. More than seven semi trucks were filled with gifts for families in Idaho and parts of Oregon and Nevada.
iHeartMedia's Raleigh and Charlotte clusters collectively gathered 11,152 toys for local families in need with their "Stuff-A-Bus" holiday campaign. Held over two weekends, on-air personalities – including those from WNCB/Raleigh and WKKT/Charlotte – lived on buses for 60 hours, encouraging community participation. Toys were donated to Toys For Tots and Thompson Child & Family Focus.
