Chronicle: Ron Rogers

Country Radio Hall of Fame member Ron Rogers died Dec. 30 in Austin at the age of 89. Rogers began his broadcasting career at KTBC AM-FM-TV/Austin, and later was PD at WACO/Waco, GM at KOKE/Austin and President/Co-Owner at KLAW/Lawton, OK and Austin stations KVET & KASE. He served as president of the Texas Association of Broadcasters in 1983, and was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2012. See his full obituary here. A memorial celebration was held yesterday (1/4). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types or the Bill Little Legacy Scholarship.
