iHeartMedia SVP/Programming Joey Brooks has departed in what he says is the first layoff in his career. Brooks programmed WBWL/Boston & WWYZ/Hartford – hosting afternoons at the latter – and oversaw the company's eight Connecticut stations. He also served as Dir./Brand Strategy & Programming for the company's Hot AC stations nationwide, for which he also hosted a weekend show.

Brooks was named SVPP/Connecticut in 2019, arriving from the PD position at the company's AC WMIA/Miami (CAT 9/9/19). He previously served as APD/MD/on-air personality at the company's Top 40 WKSS/Hartford from 2002-2006. Prior experience includes CHUM/Toronto, WIOQ/Philadelphia and WXKS/Boston.
