KPAN began as a standalone AM signal at 860 on the dial ... on Aug. 4, 1948. That was before the popularity in FM signals that would rise in the '60s, prompting the addition of FM 106.3. The Formby family thanks the Hereford community for 78 wonderful years of hometown radio as we say goodbye to the station’s operations."
