Parton Music Swells On DSPs
Islands In The Stream: In the streaming world, Spotify updated covers for its "Legendary Women of Country," "All Out 70s," "Great Female Voices" and "Country's Greatest Hits" to feature Dolly Parton after her passing yesterday (8/25). Spotify reports overall streams of her music increased 1,260% globally and 2,320% in the U.S. compared to the prior seven-day daily average (Aug. 18–24). Nine Parton songs broke into Spotify's Daily Top Songs USA all-genre, 200-position chart. "Jolene" and "9 to 5" entered the chart for the first time at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. At Amazon Music, "streams of Dolly Parton’s music increased 13.5x globally over the past 24 hours," according to a company spokesperson. "In the U.S., ‘Jolene’ is currently the most-streamed song on Amazon Music, while ‘9 to 5’ is the third most-streamed."
