Rainey To Host WWO Nights; Smith Steps Down
Cumulus KRST/Albuquerque PD Bev Rainey has been named host of Westwood One's new Country Nights Live, debuting Dec. 31, as Nights With Elaina's Elaina Smith is stepping down. Also departing is producer Jackie Stevens. Rainey is expected to relocate to Nashville; she joined KRST in 2020 (CAT 2/26/20) and had previously served as PD at crosstown iHeartMedia KBQI. No word on plans for the position in Albuquerque.
Smith joined Nash Nights Live in 2013 from mornings at WAOA/Melbourne, FL. The show rebranded five years ago (CAT 1/8/2020), with Stevens joining in 2023 (CAT 1/20/23). Her priors include a regional post with EMI Nashville and 15 years with The Big Time With Whitney Allen. Reach Smith here and Stevens here.
