WFRE Shuffles Lineup; Whalen Retires
Local Daily Media WFRE/Frederick, MD's longtime morning co-host Tom Whalen is retiring. His last day in the studio will be Dec. 31, and his last time on the air will be Jan. 4 when his final Sunday Rewind Classic Country show airs. Whalen has been with the station since 1999, and moved from afternoons to mornings in 2008.
PD Andy Webb will shift from afternoons to mornings, where he will be teamed with his wife and current WFRE midday host "Emma Jay" Webb. Current morning co-host Dianah Gibson will move to middays. Succeeding Andy Webb in afternoons will be newly hired radio vet Randy Grubbs, who previously worked in Milwaukee, Seattle, Nashville, Indianapolis and Portland, OR. Drew Phelps remains in nights.
